Where I started out

I have started my homebrewing with Mr. Beer. I grabbed the premium kit off of woot.com for a steal. I brewed up my first kit the "West Coast Pale Ale" on 1/14 and bottled on 1/28, the label I made for it is below, making the labels is almost as fun as brewing it! I didn't have a hydrometer then so I have no idea what my original or final gravity was. Its in my brew cabinet carbing and conditioning now.

On 1/29 I put a twist on "Jamaica Mon" and brewed it up. I'm planning to call that Island ale. I did .5 oz of cascade hops for 30 minutes and .5 oz for 5 minutes. I finally got my hydrometer and sample tube! OG was 1.050. The krausen layer was amazing days 1 and 2, thick and churning. Its settled down now but smells fantastic. I'll keep this going and post pictures on bottling day.
